Description
Malcorta (Spanish for "badly cut)" is a virtually extinct version of Verdejo, which Javier Sanz has recuperated.
Vinification
Macorta ripens later than Verdejo and has a higher acidity.
The wine is macerated and fermented is stainless steel tanks.
Tasting analysis
Bright colour. Fresh citrus, white fruit and gooseberry aromas, more complex than a classic Verdejo.
Very wide on the palate, but also very fresh - the citrus notes come back in the finish.
Storage potential
2 years.
Serving
Serve cool.
