Intense and balsamic on the nose, with notes of blueberries, blackberries, rosemary, juniper, eucalyptus, pine needles, leaves, damp earth, graphite, boletus, cocoa, nutmeg, and a cigar box. Powerful, structured, with a standout fruity core, refreshing acidity, and a persistent mineral finish.

The new red 2022 Sellongues was produced with Cariñena from old vines planted in 1920 on a steep slope on slate soils in La Vilella Baixa that he bought in 2019 and recovered, transformed to organic farming and worked by horse and hand. It's aromatic, floral and expressive, with a bright ruby color and a full-bodied palate with ripeness (15% alcohol) and freshness (pH 3.2), fine-grained tannins and lots of energy. It matured in a 400-liter French oak barrel and one 125-liter amphora for one year. It's a powerful, characterful and elegant Cariñena. Only 689 bottles were filled in February 2024. A great debut.
