R. Parker (92/100)
With its classical lactic, spicy and finely toasted nose, the 2011 Viña Pedrosa Reserva is a good representative of the classical Ribera Del Duero. They always use 10% Cabernet Sauvignon to complement the Tempranillo in this bottling, something that in the more Mediterranean vintages as this 2011 adds an Atlantic, fresh touch to the wine. The palate is medium-bodied with refined tannins, good acidity and a velvety texture; it's powerful but not aggressive, elegant but not weak. I think this is great for a ripe, warm vintage. The Pedrosa wines are never showy, they show restraint with character. 44,520 bottles produced.
