R. Parker (94/100)
The 2024 El Mentridano Blanco is the second vintage of the white Garnacha Blanca from 11-year-old vines on granite sandstone soils in the village of Méntrida, where they hope to express the soil and not the variety. It fermented and matured in concrete and went through full malolactic. It has a golden color—the skin contact was reduced to four days—and a deep and complex nose, with a notable absence of fruit aromas. It's redolent of pollen and wet stones. It's beautifully textured and has energy, volume and freshness, with 13% alcohol. It's fully ripe and full of flavors and has a very tasty finish with a fine, stony feeling. This is a very serious white, with a strong personality. It's a step up from the initial vintage. 5,000 bottles produced.
