Mais entre-temps, le nouvel Alión 2022 est déjà arrivé chez nous. Parmi les tout premiers en Europe !
Pour l’instant, ce millésime n’a été commenté que par Ferran Centelles pour Jancis Robinson, qui évoque une année chaude et puissante avec un
“almost Cabernet-like character that will appeal to lovers of richer, more explosive styles.
One of the most exuberant and fruit-forward Alion
vintages in recent memory.”
On retrouve ici un Alión dans la lignée des grandes années puissantes comme 2010 et 2015 à Pauillac, Bordeaux !
Si vous avez déjà Alión 2021 en cave, il est vivement conseillé d’y ajouter ce 2022 afin de créer un contraste intéressant.
Alión 2021 était en effet décrit comme un millésime plus frais, marqué par beaucoup d’élégance. 2022 est un véritable powerhouse, riche en fruit et en puissance !

The vintage released in 2025 is the 2021 Alión, a year to remember,
one of the best in recent times.
2021 was relaxed and textbook in all senses, with snow in the beginning of the year, a mild spring disturbed only by frost in Pesquera that didn't affect other villages and a relatively cool summer that slowed things down, and the grapes ripened to perfection without rain after September. They used grapes from 13 different villages throughout the Ribera del Duero, from a total of 130 hectares. The grapes were cooled down for 24 hours, and once destemmed, they were put in the oak and stainless steel vats, where they underwent a five-day cold soak and then native fermentation through a "pied de cuve." The wine has 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.81 and 4.8 grams of acidity (tartaric). It's very fresh and fruit-driven, with the balance and elegance of the cooler year, and it's a little austere, with very elegant and polished tannins and a different quality, when the grapes ripen slowly.
C’est l’essence même de la Ribera del Duero. Un Tempranillo de haut niveau capable de vieillir et d’évoluer harmonieusement pendant 15 ans ou plus.
Les vignobles d’Alión se situent en moyenne à 750 m d’altitude, avec un rendement très faible de seulement 26,6 hl/ha et un âge moyen des vignes de 42 ans.
