I loved the nose of the 2014 El Templari, full of dry roses, balsamic notes, wild fruits of the forest and exotic spices. This is mostly the local Morenillo complemented by some 30% Garnacha, where the Morenillo matured in clay jars for some three months and the rest in oak to complete one year of upbringing. It's quite pale and aromatic, and the palate is fresh and has good acidity, a little marked by the oak right now, but it should be better with some time in bottle. Good value and full of character.
Bàrbara Forés keeps producing very tasty wines from their cellars in Terra Alta. Their range includes a new white fermented with the skins and matured in amphorae.
