R. Parker (96/100)
The 2010 Pérez Pascuas Gran Reserva is produced with grapes from a very old vineyard (estimated to be at least 80 years old), with extremely low yields and naturally balanced juice. The wine, in a dream vintage like 2010, matured in oak barrels for 26 months, yet, the nose is not excessively oaky and is very spicy with nice fruit integration; it's still showing very young and only starting to develop hints of tertiary, more complex aromas. This wine always has some 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate is silky with very refined tannins, great balance and length. This is a remarkable, classical Gran Reserva that should age in bottle, improve and develop complexity for a very long time; it should drink nicely throughout its life. This is like traveling to the wines of yesteryear.
