Year after year: 96 and 97/100!!
This is the new generation of young winemakers in Rioja.
Shared approach: working by terroir, only with old bush vines (gobelet) and always biodynamic.
In 2015, eight young winemakers / friends united around this shared philosophy. We mainly knew them through Oscar Alegre, who at that time was still working for Descendientes de J.Palacios in Bierzo, while already active as an oenologist with vineyards of his own in his native Rioja.
It was Oscar who introduced us to the brothers Arturo and Kike (together “Artuke”) in 2015. We tasted their wines several times, and in 2018 they decided to join us. Since then, Artuke has represented in our range the “other Rioja”.
Like many young Spanish winemakers inspired by Burgundy, they name their wines after vineyards and lieux-dits. Their motto: “In grape we trust”.
We’ve just received Artuke’s new 2023 vintages, and here too, 2023 is a balanced year with more freshness than the warm and powerful 2022.
Both La Condenada 2023 and El Escolladero 2023 received remarkable scores from the international wine press – up to 100/100 from Guía Peñín!
