The new “boutique winery” in Ribera del Duero
From Vega Sicilia to Ausàs.
Now available: the very last bottles of the fantastic Ausàs 2022!
When Xavier Ausàs, winemaker at Vega Sicilia for many years (1988 – 2015), called us 5 years ago to introduce the wine from his new estate, we were all ears.
And we have no regrets: this estate is now one of the great names of Ribera del Duero.

Production of the 2022 vintage was very limited, and this one is for lovers of powerful wines! Do you like ripe, full-bodied Ribera del Duero, but with soft, supple tannins that make the wine perfectly drinkable right now? Then this wine is for you.
See what R. Parker has to say: 94/100
“The 2022 Interpretación is serious and unmistakably Ribera, with a dark color and aromas of ripe berries, herbs and generous, very high quality oak. It's very classical and powerful, with a creamy profile and abundant tannins that call for a few years in bottle. It fermented mostly in stainless steel, with some concrete too, and matured in French oak barrels, 30% of them new and half of them 500-liter ones. It comes in at 15% alcohol and is full-bodied and powerful. It was bottled in May 2024.
Xavier Ausàs, like many winemakers in their 50s and 60s, has been joined by his son, also called Xavier, who like him, was also educated and trained in Bordeaux. They keep producing one single red wine, 70% from their own vines in Nava de Roa and the rest purchased grapes from Roa, Gumiel del Mercado and Moradillo de Roa.”
