“Possibly one of the best Corimbo wines in the history of Bodegas La Horra.”

No, these are not the words of just another wine critic. They come from Agustín Santolaya, the big boss at Bodegas Roda. Agustín and our entire team are therefore incredibly proud to present this Corimbo 2023.

2023 has turned out to be an outstanding vintage. And that was by no means guaranteed. Like 2022, it was a very warm year. But in September, just before harvest, the rain arrived. This slowed the ripening process and delayed the harvest slightly. After fermentation, the wines emerged from the tanks with surprising freshness. This is exactly what Agustín points out:

“It is incredible to experience how, in warm vintages like 2023,
the fruit is so present and so fresh.”

Corimbo comes from slightly younger vineyards than Corimbo I Reserva. It is therefore approachable sooner.

Their release dates alone are four years apart. This year, the outstanding 2019 vintage of Corimbo I Reserva was released.

This is a truly outstanding wine for its price, with excellent ageing potential too.

Description

Bodegas Roda's latest adventure. The project was born in 2006 and the first wine produced in 2008. The name Corimbo in itself is a token of rarity, since its meaning is a horizontal inflorescence. The production of the cuvée is 40,000 bottles.

Corimbo 2023 in brief

What makes Corimbo 2023 special?

Despite the warm growing season, Corimbo 2023 shows remarkably fresh and expressive fruit. Agustín Santolaya considers it one of the finest Corimbo wines ever produced by Bodegas La Horra.

Why did the 2023 vintage retain so much freshness?

Rain arrived in September, shortly before harvest. This slowed the ripening process and slightly delayed the harvest, allowing the wines to emerge from fermentation with surprising freshness.

Which grape variety is used for Corimbo 2023?

Corimbo 2023 is a red wine from Ribera del Duero made from 100% Tinto Fino, the local name for Tempranillo.

What is the difference between Corimbo and Corimbo I Reserva?

Corimbo comes from slightly younger vineyards and is therefore approachable sooner. It is released around four years earlier and costs only half the price of Corimbo I Reserva.
