On Friday, we already told you the wonderful story of our organic wine pioneers at Albet i Noya.
We focused in particular on their top wine, Reserva Martí, named after Josep Maria’s son.
But we should certainly not forget Reserva Martí’s “wine sister”: La Milana.
La Milana also comes from the excellent 2021 vintage.
The area where Albet i Noya is located is called the “Muntanyes d’Ordal”. It is a special part of the Penedès region. The area lies at a slightly higher altitude and mainly has clay-limestone soils, with small plots spread across the hillsides.

Many years ago, they purchased a
small finca called “Can Milà de la Roca”, mainly planted with
Garnatxa,
Ull de Llebre and
Merlot.
The owner of this estate was known as “La Milana”. The wine is therefore a tribute to the woman who worked and cared for these vines for many years.
With its beautiful label featuring a European bee-eater, known as an “abellerol” in Catalan, a bird often seen in the area and occasionally spotted in Belgium as well, La Milana is
the perfect little sister of Martí.
As the title suggests, this wine costs just over half the price of the Reserva Martí I presented on Friday. Yet the same quality standards are applied: organic viticulture and winemaking, strict selection and perfectionism at every stage.
So on Sundays, you drink Reserva Martí, while during the week you can enjoy this wonderful La Milana. Both wines can also continue to age beautifully for many years.
Enjoy!
