I’m so happy!
Finally one of my all-time favourites, a wine I’ve never been able to write about before.
It’s the La Santa de Úrsula from our friends at Envínate in Tenerife. One of their rarest red wines. And always a bit overlooked because so few people know it. The first vintage was only 2020. And in 2022 and 2023, production was low due to drought.
The 2024 vintage was also dry, but more consistent than previous years, which means we now have 180 bottles available! Yesss!
And I can finally write about it!

The *Envínate boys* (and the *Girl*) are best known for their top cuvées such as Margalagua, Las Molinas (these are already sold out on reservation, so reserve your wines for next year HERE), and Palo Blanco, with very high scores between 98 and 100/100.
But hardly anyone knows this La Santa. It is their only wine from the Tacoronte-Acentejo region in northern Tenerife. It shows many similarities with the wines from Taganana in the far north, but here there is slightly more rainfall and the soils are red volcanic rock instead of the black volcanic soils of Taganana.
The parcels for this La Santa de Úrsula lie at 350 m and 600 m (three small plots). These are old vines in the traditional gobelet style of the island, trained downwards in strands. The vineyards are true field blends from these old plots, containing Listán Negro, Negramoll, and a small portion of white grapes such as Listán Blanco.

The wine is very floral, refined, pale in colour, with barely 12% alcohol.
So fine, so elegant, so Atlantic. Perfectly balanced, ethereal in style.
And what does Gutiérrez say for R. Parker?
That this 2024 is the best ever!
97/100
"The 2024 La Santa de Úrsula has to be the finest vintage for this red […] 2024 is the best year for La Santa […]"
And what he doesn’t mention:
This wine has a fantastic, incredible price-quality ratio!
So buy one of our 180 bottles now and
taste the finesse of the volcanic island of Tenerife!
