Gorgollassa 2022 – Mesquida Mora
A forgotten grape. A headstrong winemaker. A cult wine in the making.
Gorgollassa was once nearly extinct – a local Mallorcan variety abandoned due to its unpredictable yields. But Bárbara Mesquida Mora – always one to defy conventions – took a different approach. In 2014, she grafted a few Merlot vines from her Es Monjos plot with this grape, experimented for several years, and released her first 100% Gorgollassa wine in 2019.

Now, for the first time in our selection, Gorgollassa 2022:
This is not a wine for fans of power and extraction. It’s for those who love to uncover what’s possible with forgotten grape varieties, biodynamic viticulture, and flawless winemaking.
Score: 93/100 (Parker):
“The super elegant pale red 2022 Gorgollassa kept a moderate 12.5%
alcohol in a very warm year, and the wine is elegant, clean and fresh,
with no noticeable heat or oak. It has a medium-bodied palate with
balance, serious, chalky tannins and a long finish. It was only partly
matured in oak.”
Limited production and only released in top vintages. Don’t miss out!
Please note: Gorgollassa is not produced every year. This makes it not only a special wine, but also an exceptionally rare one.
