Indeed, this is historically
the very first top-tier white wine in our selection!
I believe the first vintage of “Selección de Añada” 1996 already appeared on our price list. And since then, it has only continued to prove itself—year after year.
Many other outstanding white wines have joined the portfolio in the meantime, but only one has consistently delivered on its ageing potential: this one.
Selección de Añada is still released only after 10 years of ageing at the estate.
There is no other Albariño in Spain that consistently performs at this level and demonstrates such beautiful evolution. Last summer, I opened both a 2011 and a 2005 from my private cellar at home. Still absolutely beautiful—no signs of decline whatsoever.
Quite remarkable for a Spanish white!
This wine is made from
the oldest Albariño vines on the estate, planted on pure granite.
There’s no oak ageing involved—something that surprises many sommeliers. It’s the extended ageing on lees in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures that gives this wine its incredible longevity.
And when it’s released, it’s still
youthful and fresh, with many more years of ageing ahead.
This summer saw the release of the 2015 vintage.
According to Luis Gutiérrez, Parker’s taster,
the finest vintage ever… It also received
the highest score to date!

"The 2015 Albariño Selección de Añada is nothing short of phenomenal. For some reason, I hadn't tasted the young 2015 Albariño at the time it was released. It comes from the Los Bancales vineyard planted some 50 years ago and fermented with indigenous yeasts but without malolactic fermentation. It has a bright, almost fluorescent color and a complex, subtle and nuanced, elegant and expressive nose, with notes of sea shells and sea breeze, grass and white flowers. It's very clean, and the palate shows great balance and even feels a bit young. It has remarkable acidity and freshness (seven grams of tartaric acid) with good ripeness and 13% alcohol. This matured in tank with lees for over 30 months and was bottled in June 2024. It feels more serious and less exotic than earlier vintages. 18,000 bottles produced.
This is the finest vintage that I can remember. Bravo!"
