Good news!
The new 2023 vintages of Pingus and Flor de Pingus arrived with us this week
And both wines are a true triumph for the region and for the estate.
Here is what Peter Sisseck himself has to say:
“Pingus 2023 is easily one of the best wines we have made. We have come a long way from the Pingus’s of the past, it is all very transparent and balanced. In a strange way I feel like the Pingus of the last couples of years, are transcending the vintages. It is much more Pingus than a wine of its vintage.”

The combination with older vines, and now the younger vines from our own masal section are starting to find a great balance of freshness and depth. Never an overpowering wine, but always playing on balance and light of touch. The 2023 Flor is playing the role of the charmer of the year.”
You are therefore now given the very first opportunity to order these wines (NB: if you purchased these wines en primeur in June 2023, your bottles will be delivered during January 2026)!
After the warm 2021 and 2022 vintages, 2023 was again warm and dry, also in Ribera del Duero. Harvest took place between September 8 and 23.
The result clearly shows that in times of warming and drought, hard work in the vineyard and low yields remain the key to producing wines that retain freshness and finesse.
They started bottling the 2023 Flor de Pingus the same day of my visit. They are bottling the 2023s a little earlier. It was a year when he was really scared because of the accumulated drought. He noticed that the plants with an individual stick behaved better, so from that year, he started putting sticks in all the Pingus vineyards. It was warm and dry, and the wines are more fruit-driven; they are less powerful and less concentrated (from stress?), juicier and less tannic than the 2022s. The wines are more floral and fragrant, in some cases a little lighter but, in the case of the 2023 Pingus, with breathtaking elegance. They are a triumph over the very dry and adverse conditions of the year.
As a result, we received significantly smaller quantities of Flor de Pingus 2023 than last year.
But there is also good news: we still have 18 bottles of Pingus 2023 (99/100) available for sale, following the June 2024 en primeur campaign.
And even better: Flor de Pingus 2023 is priced lower than the 2022!
