Yes, sorry, but we simply cannot stop talking about Bierzo 😉! In March, we already treated you to a super promotion on Verónica Ortega’s fantastic Quite 2023. Yesterday, she gave us the good news that we can continue this promotion with the Quite 2024.
And this vintage is truly special: the 2024 was made entirely in her new winery. It is therefore the most complex and best Quite to date. It was made using grapes not only from Valtuille de Abajo, but also from Cobrana, giving her entry-level wine even more finesse. This is Bierzo at its very best.
We have worked for many years with the two godfathers of Atlantic Bierzo:
Raúl Pérez and
Ricardo Palacios. But by now, you know that there are other projects that are more than worth discovering.
One of them is the small estate of Verónica Ortega. She learned her craft at Raúl Pérez and Romanée-Conti and has had her own small wine estate for around ten years.
This is Atlantic style with a southern twist. Verónica’s roots are in Cádiz, in the far south of Spain.
The
Quite is her entry-level wine. If you haven’t tasted it yet, now is definitely the time.
This is a serious wine with a summery profile. Just 13.5% alcohol, with plenty of freshness and elegance.
Its southern character is even reflected in its name: “Quite” is a term from bullfighting, a tradition closely linked to the region. It also refers to her father, who was active in this world.
The 2024 has now arrived and will also receive the highest score ever awarded to this wine. Remember, you heard it here first.
