Chablis? Read on:
- A wine made mainly from Viura, a typical Spanish grape variety with great potential. It can be both full-bodied and rounded, while also reflecting the subtle character of its terroir. Sounds like Chardonnay?
- This Viura has a certain roundness, but what really stands out in the glass is its minerality and freshness. Exactly the hallmarks of Chablis wines from Burgundy…
- Arturo de Miguel from Artuke selected the white grapes for this wine mainly from limestone soils, hence the minerality. Where in France do we find this type of terroir…? Exactly!

We naturally know Artuke for its top red wines, made in a very Burgundian way, with vinification by individual plot.
This is a white wine based mainly on Viura, with a small proportion of Malvasía and Palomino.
Only old vines planted on limestone soils. Naturally organically farmed vineyards, hand-harvesting and the exclusive use of native yeasts from the vineyard.
The wine is not only rich and complex, but above all has plenty of freshness thanks to ageing in foudres and concrete vats. The oak ageing is therefore only very subtle.

Texture, freshness and minerality in one glass. Take a look:

The white 2023 Trascuevas Blanco is a blend of grapes from three plots in Baños de Ebro, Samaniego and Ábalos and is 85% Viura, 10% Palomino Fino and 5% Malvasía Riojana. It fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured with equal parts in concrete and 600-liter oak foudres for 11 months. It has moderate ripeness and a floral personality and is clean, young and pale, with some green tints. It has 13.1% alcohol and a low pH of 3.12 that indicates very good freshness in the wine. It's floral and elegant, with no oak in the aromas or flavors, and it has an elegant profile, with purity and balance. It finishes dry and serious, with a chalky sensation. This is very good indeed.
