Since 2011, though, these can choose a common name, DO Islas Canarias - a very good idea indeed, for the consumer who would have difficulties in identifying or placing on the map, say, the 5 different appellations on the island of Tenerife...
This is why many producers on the islands now choose to market their wines under the Islas Canarias common identity.
