The vineyards lie at around 500 m altitude on stony soils with a high content of limestone and clay. The climate is continental, with hot summers, cold winters, and strong diurnal temperature variation. The prevailing Cierzo wind from the north provides excellent ventilation for the vines.
All vineyards within Urbezo are organically certified, placing the appellation – together with Penedès – among the first wine regions in Spain to be entirely organic.
The D.O.P. allows the production of white, rosé, and red wines from varieties such as Chardonnay, Garnacha, Syrah, Tempranillo, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The wines are characterized by a pure fruit expression, balanced acidity, and a clear reflection of the local terroir.
