As Sortes 2023, finally back in stock!
Spain’s best white winemaker,
Rafael Palacios, has been renowned for years for his top wine
As Sortes, and especially
Sorte o Soro (98/100) and
Sorte Antiga (96/100), which year after year receive top awards and scores as Spain’s best
white wines.
All vines are planted on a terroir of crushed granite or a mixture of granite and sand. Pure minerality at its best.
Rafa manages to craft wines that are both
Atlantic and mineral-driven as well as
Burgundian and gastronomic. A true tour de force for a Spanish white wine. Fully organic, with most of the vineyards also following biodynamic practices.
The As Sortes 2022 came from a warm and challenging year.
However, Rafa is absolutely thrilled about the 2023. According to him, it is the best vintage since he started As Sortes in 2004.
The wine has not yet been rated, but the Louro 2023 has been, and it was already the best-selling wine at our autumn tasting. And about this Louro 2023 (which received its highest score ever!), Parker had this to say:
“This is quite impressive and a preview of the rest of the 2023s to come”
