Description

Cáreo is the newest “vino de paraje” from Verónica. This time it comes from a parcel of just under one hectare in San Juan de la Mata in the north of Bierzo. The vineyard is located at 650 m altitude and has limestone soils, very rare in this region. The vines date back to 1917. Mainly Mencía (90%), complemented by Palomino, Godello and Doña Blanca. This is a fine example of a Blouge wine, a contraction of blanc and rouge. The only Mencía from limestone soils in our portfolio.
