José Luis Mateo is one of the finest winemakers in Galicia, but also one of the most humble. His Quinta da Muradella is located in Monterrei, a small appellation in southern Galicia, near the Portuguese border.
José Luis always waits patiently before releasing his wines to the market, and always in very small quantities. True to his principles, he often offers them at prices far too low for their quality! He farms organically and vinifies as naturally as possible.
And the result is extraordinary finesse!

Last year, we received a small delivery of all the delicious cuvées from José Luis Mateo. The limited supply sold out in just two months.
José Luis has just sent us another shipment, again in very limited quantities.
And when I say limited, I mean it literally: only 120 bottles per reference of his crus, and 240 bottles of his entry-level wine, Alanda Tinto.
The Alanda Tinto 2018 was bottled last year and is already perfectly ready to drink upon release.
