New little brother of cult wine Calogía:
"Doble M"
“Doble M”, that’s the name of the
new wine by José Manuel Pérez Ovejas of
Dominio de Calogía. A name that loyal wine lovers will surely recognize. Just a few weeks ago, his top cuvée
Calogía “S” 2021 was launched (a few bottles are still available).
But this small boutique winery now also produces “Doble M”, named after his two children Manuela and Mauro. It’s a 100% Tempranillo from a small north-facing vineyard at 845 metres altitude.
Only 15,000 bottles were produced in 2021.
360 of them came to Belgium!

Early May I visited the estate with a few good clients and refined tasters: we were all blown away!
We were truly impressed by this 2021 vintage.
The other two Calogía wines are outstanding of course, but also priced accordingly…
This
“Doble M” offers
fantastic value for money!
José Manuel has also bottled a small number of
doble magnums (got it?), of which we received exactly 12 bottles.
This 2021 hasn’t yet been rated by R. Parker, but I’m sure he’ll love it: the wine is extremely balanced and complex. To us, it even has a touch of Vega Sicilia flair…
For me, this is a great wine, already a pleasure to drink now, but with excellent aging potential as well.
And hey, treat yourself and
grab that Doble Magnum of the “Doble M”!
