Louro is only the second wine of this estate but it illustrates the huge potential of Godello: it is a showcase for minerality and balance.
Rafael says that he vinifies the Spanish Grüner Veltliner.
Vinification
Stainless steel tanks. Part of the wine goes into French oak vats.
Storage potential
To be drunk young, although after 3 years the wine grows larger and more mineral still.
To serve
12°C in a large glass.
Trial analysis
Minerality is the key word.
Freshness, too, thanks to citrus and exotic notes and a hint of such an pepper.
Rich on the palate, Louro has a charming roundness to it.
The exotic notes come back in the finish. The wood element is very well integrated.
