Siurana is an appellation of origin for olive oil from the south of Catalonia. This is where the arbequina variety gained its fame.

Mas d'En Gil is an outstanding wine estate, whose old vines produce top cuvées; but it also hosts some 2,000 old Arbequina olive-trees. This does not mean a huge oil production, but the quality is superb. The olive grove lies in the Siurana appellation, which is roughly the same area as the DO Priorat for wine. This oil is extra virgin and unfiltered.
