Loureira

As Penas is the white single-vineyard wine from Adega A Barouta in Ribeiro. It comes from an old vineyard in the Val do Avia, planted on granite soils. The mixed planting is dominated by Treixadura, complemented by Albariño, Caíño Blanco, Loureiro, Agudelo and other local varieties. Treixadura forms the backbone of the wine, while Albariño brings extra acidity and energy. A white Ribeiro with plenty of tension, minerality and a clearly Atlantic character. It is also made to develop well in bottle.

In 2022, José Pariente decided to take over this small boutique winery as Arsenio had no successor. This is a small 6ha estate with a good 20,000 bottles of production. José Pariente's main aim is to continue Arsenio's legacy with respect for the region and terroir.
