The white 2021 Finca Calvestra Margas was produced with Merseguera grapes from vines planted at 920 meters in altitude. It fermented in 500-liter acacia barrels, where it matured for 11 months, followed by one more year in stainless steel. It has 13.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.21 and six grams of acidity, with more freshness and acidity, reflecting the cooler year. It's pale and looks younger than it is, and it has an austere profile with a notable absence of fruit. It has herbal and mineral sensations, like a feeling of wet porcelain and chalk, and it finished with a faint bitter, salty and chalky twist. 1,416 bottles produced.
Mustiguillo was instrumental in the revival of the Bobal and Merseguera grapes in the Levante region. The only estate in its area since 2003, it joined the Vinos de Pago association in 2010. DOP El Terrerazo is a certified organic estate wine, made from vineyards cultivated through natural methods and rigorous practices. Only grapes from the estate’s own vineyards are used.
Garnatxa blanca (100%)
75 cl.
2024
Trailblazer since 1994. This is the first wine named after the founder of the estate. It took decades of hard work to select the best vinification method and the best blend: Grenache Blanc and Viognier, without the Chardonnay which was used in the first years). Production: 8,400 bottles.
Xarel.lo (100%)
2022
This is the first wine of the new project of Albert Jan (Acústic) in its birthplace, Montmell. At Mas Vilella, he makes white and red wines from local grapes.
Garnatxa blanca (93%), Macabeu (4%), Pansal (2%), Garnatxa Roja (1%)
2008 was the first vintage of this wine. Part of the grapes come from the high village of Ullmolins (up to 800m), in the Monsant region. The harvest takes place in the first half of November, and the altitude bring a lot of freshness to the wines.
2009 is the first vintage. El Fanio is a plot of Xarel·lo vines over 60 years old, located at 350 metres altitude and part of the Finca Can Milà. Very calcareous soils, farmed biodynamically since 2006. Fanio is the name of the man who planted the vineyards.
Macabeu (60%), Garnatxa blanca (40%)
2025
Young Macabeu (60%) from the El Sas plot (planted in 2015), complemented by white Grenache (40%) from the Entrebosc vineyard (planted in 2008). The name Bellmunt refers both to the village and to the municipal appellation Vi de Vila. The idea behind Bellmunt is to offer a fresh, approachable wine with outstanding value for money, while fully reflecting the character and typicity of its terroir.
Sauvignon blanc (100%)
2018
Promo Pack 6 bottles (5+1) "Nude" is a collaboration with "Thunder Wine Makers". The latter we also know from our Ginraw, which was co-crafted by them. Sergi Figueras, Spain's 1st sommelier, does the honours. Together with Augustus, they make wines here without maquillage, hence the name "Nude". Natural wine.
Macabeu (100%)
2023
1998 was the first vintage of this white Penedès wine. Since then, the cuvée has changed a lot. It is made with the grapes of a high altitude parcel of old Macabeu in La Juncosa, called La Finca Els Camps. It has a very Mediterranean character, and a nice minerality.
Merseguera
This is Mustiguillo's greatest white. But more than this, it illustrates the salvage of the Merseguera grape. The grapes come from old, organic, high altitude vines (900m) under continental climate influences. Limestone soils.
Giró, Premsal
2011 is the year Acrollam (anagram of Mallorca) was born. The name illustrates the u-turn the estate has negotiated.
Malvasia (100%)
2021
1998 was the first vintage of this white wine, named after the heights on which the vines stand: Els Camps.
The estate is very small, as its production. Nun is the Egyptian word for "Source of everything". Improvisació is the latest wine in the range.
Montonega (100%)
This cuvée is currently the only wine made out of Montanega (a variant of Parellada coming from Selma (El Pal de Manlleu), a small village in the Montmell hills). This is the project of Ester Nin and her brother, who originate from the place. The vines are planted on red clay soils (hence the name Vermella). There are cultivated biodynamically. A rare, classy and very Mediterranean wine.
Macabeu (34%), Garnatxa blanca (33%), Pedro Ximénez (33%)
Limestone or gypse, in catalan. Which looks more like the soils of Jerez than any other part of the Priorat denomination. This top cuvée of estate is a blend of Macabeu, PX (back to Jerez!) and grenache blanc.
Chenin Blanc (25%), Marsanne (25%), Parellada Montonega (25%), Roussanne (25%)
Selma is a cult wine. Everybody has heard about it, but rare are those who got to taste it. Selma is the name of a small mountain village in the Sierra de Montmell, in Santes Creus (Province of Tarragona). Here are Jaume et Ester Jin's roots; and this is here that years ago they started ti plant vine son slaps, on a very small scale. Biodynamic culture and winemaking.
2020
Garnatxa blanca (40%), Macabeu (40%), Xarel.lo (16%), Moscatel de Alejandria (4%)
A genuine wine made with the typical grapes of the Priorat. The kind of wine that does not please everyone, but so be it!
