R. Parker (94/100)
As they explained, the super austere 2025 the 2025 Horta-Colomer white was not classified under DOQ Priorat because its alcohol level (12.33%) fell below the required 12.5%, and they released it without appellation of origin, pointing to one of the issues with the appellation rules for minimum alcohol for certain wines. It's serious and austere, produced with a very late ripening variety that is harvested after the reds but still didn't manage the required alcohol level. The wine is serious and austere, and despite its youth, it's a lot more expressive and harmonious than the other whites from 2025. It was regrafted on Merlot vines in 2016. It fermented and matured in ceramic eggs and 300-liter barrels, where it matured with lees for three months. It's tasty and chalky, and is quite impressive. 933 bottles produced.
