James Suckling (98/100)
The most perfumed of its counterparts, showing floral aromas, herbs and a linear, ethereal and subtle thread of red fruit. Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy yet weightless, it has an airy, captivating quality. Framed by fine yet firm tannins. From a famed sandy plot in the village of Valtuille de Abajo. Mostly mencia with small proportions of alicante bouschet, bastardo and white grapes.
R. Parker (97/100)
The 2023 Ultreia Villegas is similar to the Ultreia Valtuille but very perfumed and perhaps a little more jovial and with more grip. This comes from the part of the lieu-dit that gets more sun and has very sandy soils that deliver elegant wines. Only 600 bottles produced.
