The 2021 Selección Personal comes from a place called Marrate-El Bardallo in Labastida, one of Mendoza's favorite vineyards, a 65-year-old two-hectare plot for high-end wines located at 610 meters above sea level. The uncrushed grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts from a pied de cuve in stainless steel, followed by malolactic in concrete and aging in French oak barrels for 13 months. It feels very harmonious, balanced and serious, a lot more closed than the Grano a Grano produced with Tempranillo. There is a very classical and elegant feeling to it, but it is very clean and defined, with purity. It has 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.76 and 4.9 grams of acidity, with elegant, fine and ripe tannins, to me the signature from the year, with purity and balance.
