Product info

Mas d'en Caçador is a single vineyard wine coming from a classified high altitude vine in Porrera. The 1.5 hectare parcel is located at 650 meters above sea level, which makes it one of the highest of Priorat.
The total production in only around 1,500 bottles.

Vinification
The whole bunches, only partially de-stemmed, are fermented with natural yeasts for 4 weeks in a large vat. The the wines then ripen for 16 months in a 2.700 litre French oak vat.
No filtration and a minimal dose of sulphur added before bottling.

Best moment: 2029-2033
Until: 2037

To serve
Between 16 and 18°C in a large Burgundy-style glass.

Trial analysis
The deep colour of a young wine. Very open on the nose, this cuvée seems fresher than La Coma d'En Romeu, maybe because the vine is oriented more to the North.
Nice expression of the slate soils. A spicier style, but a very classy wine, complex and with a very long finish.

The 2019 Nit de Nin Mas d’en Caçador has the exotic aroma of berries and ripe plums, sour cherries, graphite, classical Priorat, perfumed, extroverted and exuberant, which makes it really attractive and showy. It's super aromatic, with notes of kirsch, exotic spices, Mediterranean herbs and decayed violets. This is hedonistic and decadent, with slightly dusty tannins. 2,664 bottles produced.

Wine estate

One of the smallest estates in Priorat. Ester Nin is the oenologist of Clos Erasmus. She founded her own estate with husband Carles.
They make very elegant and pure Priorat wines, with a minimum of sulphur.
