History Hermanos Pérez Pascuas (Viña Pedrosa)
Father Mauro Pérez planted his vineyards in the 1940s and 50s—over 35 hectares, which was an immense surface at the time in the small village of Pedrosa de Duero. The entire harvest was delivered to the local cooperative.
Encouraged by the three sons, Benjamín, Adolfo and Manuel, the family decided in 1980 to start producing their own wines. The first Viña Pedrosa was born. At that time, there were fewer than ten bodegas in the entire region! It wasn’t until 1982 that the DO Ribera del Duero was created, thanks in part to the initiative of the Pérez Pascuas brothers, who were co-founders of the appellation.
1989 was another milestone, with the arrival of the third generation: José Manuel, son of Benjamín, joined as the estate’s oenologist. From that moment on, the wines reached even greater heights. He fully embraced the quality philosophy of his father and uncles, and introduced numerous improvements.
Today, the circle is complete with the full integration of the third generation: since 2019, the sons of Adolfo and Manuel have taken the reins. They are now fully in charge, following the departure of José Manuel and his father Benjamín, who left the estate in 2019 to start their own project.
Adolfo Jr and Daniel are supported by Nuria Peña Albillo, who has worked as oenologist at Hnos. Pérez Pascuas since 1999.
The small village bodega has since moved to the outskirts. It has become a beautiful complex, with stunning tasting rooms and, above all, a vinification and ageing cellar where their top wines can mature under perfect conditions. Viña Pedrosa stands for elegance and finesse—two key words that have become rare in the wines of Ribera del Duero.
