This 2008 is full of elegance.

Vinification
"The wine is made in the vine", is the motto here. So the blend is the same every year. All the grapes macerate et ferment together.

Storage potential
May be drunk today and till 2020.

To serve
Decant before serving. A superb companion for grilled red meat, especially lamb.

Trial analysis
Black and red fruit, cocoa and mineral notes.
Juicy, solid, powerful but yet elegant.
A very long finish.

The 2008 Clos de L’Obac is composed of 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Garnacha, with the balance Syrah, Merlot, and Carinena aged 14 months in new French oak before bottling without filtration. It reveals a deeper color along with an inviting bouquet of pain grille, mineral, Asian spices, incense, blackberry, and plum. Round and smooth on the palate, this is a surprisingly forward effort that can be approached now, although it should easily last through 2020

Wine estate

Costers del Siurana is one of the founders of the New Priorat Wine. The estate is famous for its Miserere and Clos de l'Obac, two elegant and very mineral wines, which rapidly placed it at the top of the DO.
