Serve at 18°C in a large glass, after decanting (at least in the first 8 years).

Trial analysis
This wine opens up in the glass.
Then come up lots of fresh, fruity aromas like cherries of plum.
A fleshy, mineral king of wine, with a subtle acidity and some very well balanced wood notes.
Very long, mineral finish.

The 2009 Vina Pedrosa Gran Reserva is a blend of Tempranillo with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from their oldest vineyards on clay-chalky soils. It has balsamic aromas intermixed with soil sensations, hints of mint and ripe black fruit, from a powerful, dry and ripe harvest. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with great sense of balance and harmony and good freshness. They favor early harvesting, which in warm vintages clearly pays back. Not cheap, though. Drink 2014-2018.
