Clos Fontà is the flagship wine of this estate. It is meant to illustrate the Priorat's typicality: strength, Mediterranean character and the minerality of the terroir. To achieve this, a selection of old vines is used (Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet sauvignon).
Vinification
Clos Fontà – from various old-vine parcels
Blend of Garnatxa (including a share of garnatxa peluda) and Carinyena. The plots Les Collets, Griñó, Secall and Barceló together form a beautiful patchwork of old vineyards, planted between 1931 and 1970 on various types of slate soils.
Clos Fontà is crafted in the spirit of the historic “Clos” wines (1989) of Priorat, which mark the beginning of the region’s modern renaissance.
The grapes are vinified separately: grenache partly in barrique, carinyena in underground concrete tanks.
Ageing lasts up to 14 months in small French oak barriques (30% new), along with one 1,500-litre foudre made of used oak.
This is followed by a minimum of 24 months of bottle ageing.

Well balanced and meaty on the palate, with silky tannins and a superb concentration.
A very long finish.
