Mixed case 6b. “El Tamboril 2025”
Exact contents to follow.
Pre-sale: delivery in December 2027.
El Tamboril is a 0.5-hectare plot that yields just enough wine each year to produce a single 1,000-litre foudre. Tamboril lies at an altitude of 1,230 metres in the Sierra de Gredos. 2016 was the first vintage ever made; in 2017, the grapes were destroyed by a hailstorm in the vineyard, so no wine was produced that year.
It is one of Comando G’s most limited cuvées.
Vinification
The whole bunches are harvested by hand and fermented with natural yeasts. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels, followed by slow maceration for 65 days. The wine is then matured for 14 months in 1000-litre tuns.

Trial analysis
Like the new innovators in Priorat, Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia (Bodega Marañones) are redefining the Grenache grape variety in their joint project Comando G, into something that can rival the elegance and finesse of the best terroirs on the Cote de Nuits or Syrah in Hermitage. Light red in colour, this Grenache is airy yet highly structured, with a unique elegance and long ageing potential.
