Macabeu

“Who do you belong to?”, quite literally. Vino de Pueblo — the Spanish equivalent of a “village wine” — crafted from old vines and made exclusively from the traditional grape varieties of the region. It’s also an ethical wine, made through crowdfunding to support and empower local farmers. A highly distinctive and characterful wine. The Tardana vineyards are between 60 and 70 years old, planted on parcels at 400 metres altitude, primarily on limestone and clay soils. The Macabeo comes from vines that are 30 to 50 years old, planted at 700 metres, also on limestone and clay. The other white grapes are field blends from vines aged between 80 and 100 years, on similar soils as the previously mentioned varieties.

The grapes come from three different vineyards on the Finca Can Milà, planted in 1960, 1968 and 1973, located at around 250 metres altitude and in gobelet. Can Milà is the latest acquisition of the bodega and La Milana (red) is the first wine produced from these plots.

2008 was the first vintage of this wine. Part of the grapes come from the high village of Ullmolins (up to 800m), in the Monsant region. The harvest takes place in the first half of November, and the altitude bring a lot of freshness to the wines.

Albada is one of the few white wines made in this mountainous area of Aragon. It is 100% Macabeo from old vines, with a very low yield. The climate is continental, with cold winters and hot summers.

Albert Jané's dream was to produce a white wine which would equal it best red cuvée, on the same terroir: his Auditori vineyard. The dream has now come true. Made with old vine Grenache blanc, with a little Pansal and Macabeu (old vines too), it epitomises the greatness of its Montsant terroir. A powerful and very Mediterranean white, in the style of the best white Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Young Macabeu (60%) from the El Sas plot (planted in 2015), complemented by white Grenache (40%) from the Entrebosc vineyard (planted in 2008). The name Bellmunt refers both to the village and to the municipal appellation Vi de Vila. The idea behind Bellmunt is to offer a fresh, approachable wine with outstanding value for money, while fully reflecting the character and typicity of its terroir.

Jané Ventura began producing Cava as early as 1914, which quickly made their name well known in the region. The bodega has deep roots in the world of Cava. Since 1998, they have also focused more on still white and red Spanish wines. In Spain, top Cavas are often made with little or no dosage, allowing the richness of the base wine to fully shine through. This is the anniversary cuvée, produced in a very limited quantity (1,914 bottles).

La Pintada is the Cava of the former Lar de Barros and one of three Cavas made in this house.

Damia was the founder of this House established in 1637. The production still takes place at the estate.

Jané Ventura stated producing cava in 1914 and soon grew famous in the whole region.It is one of the pioneers of Cava. Since 1988, it has also been producing still wines, white and red. The greatest cavas have a very limited sugar dosage, or no dosage at all, thus showing the full richness of the wine.

A blend of Bush-vine Macabeu planted between 1958 and 1960 and Double Guyot Chardonnay pal;ted in 1990. As the vineyard faces South-West, the grapes get a maximal sunshine and reach a perfect ripeness. A green harvest is done some weeks before the harvest as to foster the remaining bunches.

The first vintage of this wine was 2009. Colors is the entry level of the Cérvoles range.

This is without a doubt the most powerful white Spanish wine in our range. A true flavour bomb, full of character and individuality. From the very beginning, the estate has placed great importance on crafting a top-tier white wine – and they have succeeded brilliantly. Total production ranges between 1,500 and 3,000 bottles, depending on the vintage. It is clear that this level of quality is the result of vieilles vignes and the extremely low yields from these vineyards. This Spanish wine is not vinified every year.

This cuvée used to stay 15 (or 3 lusters) on its lees, hence the name III Lustros. It is the most powerful cuvée at Gramona's.

A white Calatayud wine from old Macabeo vines, for every thirst and occasion.

Cullerot (tadpole, in the Valencian dialect) is a nickname for Valencian people - hence the image on the label. For some years now, Celler del Roure has tried to save the old local varietals. They are still using the "old winemaking system", in the big earthenware amphoras (tinajas) they have kept on this ancient estate. 2010 was the first vintage of this cuvée.

Special version of the fantastic "Efecte". Beware! This is not a "cava". Josep-Maria Albet i Noya, during his presidency of the D.O. Penedès, created a separate appellation of origin for the sparkling wines, outside the D.O. CAVA which he felt was too much under the influence of the big mastodons; Only grapes from organic vineyards are allowed. Indeed, Josep-Maria is the pioneer of organic wines across Spain. It is therefore for more than 25 years that his bubbles were chosen by the Roca brothers of the restaurant of the same name as their house aperitif. Especially for us, we were also allowed to import this house aperitif with the label of this top restaurant (2x best restaurant in the world) in Belgium. The Roca brothers make their own coupage every year on the estate, which is then bottled with their label. Top price/quality!

1998 was the first vintage of this white Penedès wine. Since then, the cuvée has changed a lot. It is made with the grapes of a high altitude parcel of old Macabeu in La Juncosa, called La Finca Els Camps. It has a very Mediterranean character, and a nice minerality.

After reviving Bobal, Toni Sarrión turned to his next challenge: bringing Merseguera back into the spotlight. This traditional grape variety from the Alto Turia region near Valencia had long been neglected, used only for producing simple, uninspiring wines. His project began over a decade ago on a steep vineyard with a 10% incline, situated at 900 metres altitude. Old-vine Bobal proved unsuccessful in this cool climate — the grapes simply didn’t ripen — so Toni decided to graft the entire site over to Merseguera. The first vintage he released was 2011. To give the wine more aroma and energy, he added small amounts of Malvasía and Viognier. The vineyard is steeped in a Mediterranean atmosphere: between the vines grow olive trees, pine, rosemary, fennel and thyme.

Artisan-made Vermouth. White Spanish wine from Priorat with an infusion of aromatic herbs. To make this vermouth, an infusion is made based on more than 110 different plants that have soaked in a wooden barrel with wine for more than a year. This infusion is blended with a white Spanish wine based on Macabeo and Garnacha Blanca. A white wine that has had contact with the skins of the grapes so that the wine has more aromas and a darker colour. The whole thing is kept in old wooden barrels for at least two years until the vermouth has the desired colour and aromas.

After a long period of experimentation, a new trio of wines was introduced, the Selecció (in white, red and rosé). These three wines are made with the grapes of 15 different vineyards planted with old vines.
