Terra de Cuques Negre reflects the terroir of the village of Torroja. The Carinyena, planted on llicorella soils, provides the structure, backbone and acidity, while the Garnacha from clay soils brings elegant expression and red fruit. The vines are between 25 and 40 years old and are planted at an altitude of 300 to 350 metres.
Vinification
Biodynamic. After manual picking, the grapes are unzipped and vinified with whole bunches in a concrete cuve. Tasting is done daily and when enough tannin is extracted from the varietal, pressing is done and vinification continues without the bunches. No remontages or pigeage during fermentation. Completely non-interventionist. This is how to achieve such finesse in the Priorat. The 14-month élevage is done in partly concrete cuves and partly in Stockinger casks.

Trial analysis
Overwhelming red and black fruit on the nose, with pretty and discreet mineral undertones. Deliciously juicy, balanced, dense and expressive without going on extract. Fine acidity that brings a fresh touch to the wine's crisp fruit. Mediterranean spicy, brilliant length and a wonderful exponent of wines from Torroja. Priorato with a face of refinement and complexity made not at all on extraction or density. Expression of the vineyard is central here every time.
